Internet giant Google has a world of new program
development, namely maximizing the manufacture machine tools in Google, by
making robots.
Reported by the New York Times, Thursday, December 5, 2013,
one Google executive Andy Rubin admits his company is developing a robot that
can support the manufacturing process.
It's not Google's robots for the consumer, but rather
support the activities of the manufacturer or assembling electronic devices.
This project is more realistic than the adoption of the
so-called drone or drones developed world online shopping site, Amazon.
Indeed, Google has pioneered the development of robots that
since half a year ago. The company is based in Mountain View, Calif.-secretly
has acquired seven companies humanoid robot technology.
The seven companies that includes the Schaft (humanoid robot
Japanese robotics company), Industrial Perception (developers of computer
vision systems and robotic arms for loading and unloading), and Redwood Meka
Robotics (makers of robots and robotic lengat from San Francisco), Bot &
Dolly (maker of camera systems robot), Autofuss (advanced tools for advertising
and design), and Holomni (maker of high-tech wheel).
In fact, Rubin said that the company will acquire another
company.
Praised
Google's plan to reap praise from scientists and analysts.
Thus, in the future I can maximize their supply chain.
"It's a great opportunity," said Anderw McAfee,
principal investigator at MIT's Center for Digital Business.
To pursue it, Google has recently experimented with the
activity packet delivery in urban areas with Google services Shooping. "In
the future, Google may have automatic delivery service shopping results to the
door of your house," said Rubin.
"This project is fantastic. You have to think of time
as a factor (success). Preparation We need a vision of 10 years," he said.
Field of robotics is not a new field for Rubin. Prior to
joining Google, former head of Google's Android division began a career as a
robotics technician. Recorded in the 1990s he worked in a German manufacturing
company Carl Zeiss as a robotics technician.
"I made my hobby into a career. This is the
greatest job in the world. So engineer and plumber (tinkerer). You start
thinking what you want to wake up to yourself," he said.
